"...When, in the darkness of night, the telephone rings.  It will never be good news.

"On my phone, the rings are supposed to all sound the same.  But they don't.  Sometimes, you hear what can only be described as -- "the ring".  It almost always comes at 1:30 in the morning.  And when you hear "the ring" -- you know what's coming.  I've been Mayor for five years.  And I've heard that ring 12 times.

"But as bad as it is to hear the ring -- there is something even worse.
